Upgrading older Mac mini

Shot this with Nikon 50mm f/1.8D lens on a Nikon D200 before I opened up this late 2012 Mac mini to replace the HDD with a SATA SSD. I also replaced the 2 x 2GB memory modules with 2 x 8GB modules. The upgrades did not make it as fast or powerful as my 2020 Mac mini (with m1 chip) but this old one not only continues to look like new but now also performs so much better than it has before. This could be my fastest ever 2012 Mac mini!

Mac mini (2012): No tools necessary to replace memory modules. To replace HDD with an SSD, however, tools are required.

Mac mini (2014): Memory module is not user replaceable. To replace HDD with SSD or to add/replace a blade drive, tools are required.

  1. That's a very good choice. You can compare this with other Mac minis from BD Price Today
