Hi, my name is Maneuver...

Hi, my name is Maneuver and I provide camera support.
(picture in your mind an introduction at camera gear addicts anonymous meeting!)

Maneuver is not just a play on Manfrotto and Neewer, the manufacturers of two products (Manfrotto MP3-BK and Neewer Low-Profile Ball Head) combined to make this stable tripod-like support. It is also because of the maneuverability this little gizmo allows for in tiny spaces. Standing barely 3" tall, sturdy enough to support my Sony mirrorless cameras with a short prime lens. I've used this on tables at restaurants, on the floor in gardens to get close to tiny plants, on streets for low angles otherwise hard to achieve any other way, etc. The behind-the-scenes pictures will be here soon.

8th Anniversary

My impulse purchase of an Apple iPad Pro (12.9-inch) today, 8th anniversary of Steve Jobs' passing, is kinda my small tribute to the man who changed our world. We can only wonder what other ways he would have changed our world if he were still with us.

Since his passing, climate change has become an even more important issue. He probably would have done more than what Apple is currently doing about it. I believe he would have 1) built an iPhone / iPad with user-replaceable batteries to extend their usable life instead of sending them to the dump / recycle so soon as is currently happening 2) built an iPad with phone built into it so that lot of us didn't have to use two devices, and 3) generally increased lifespan of products across the board instead of just tweeting "climate change impacts all of us" or "there is no more urgent mission than saving our planet". What a genius he was!

I see legs!

IC (integrated circuit) legs or pins shot with a Sony 90mm f/2.8 macro lens on Sony a7 III camera. A red page of book under the subject provided the background. The colors/tones enhanced in Lightroom, then cropped and saved as JPG file in Photoshop.

A Flashpoint Flash TT350s (same as Godox Flash TT350s) on camera was used to light this subject. The flash was pointing camera left toward a white board and light off the board illuminated the IC. The whole setup was on the floor and it looked like this (captured with a smart phone camera):

Camera gear is supported by one of my favorite mini tripods, Bestshoot mini tripod, with Pergear ballhead.
