I might have broken my own record of single-day driving distance on a single freeway! Drove over 440 miles on I40W to get to Scottsdale, AZ from Denver, CO.
While driving through Arizona I couldn't help but wonder: what do residents do in this desert land? To my eyes, the land looks so arid without much vegetation. The residents live in old dwellings and I do not know how much comfort their homes provide in the heat (it was 106° F today but felt much hotter and I am sure it gets hotter as summer continues and, likely not very comfortable weather in winter, either). My respect to anyone making a living off of this land in these weather conditions. Truly admirable.
