This is North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck, ND captured with a 2.5 sec exposure on Nikon D800 with Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens (f/11 at 92mm) after sunset. As you can see, unlike most state capitols, there is nothing ornate about this 21-story building. No dome, tower, or sculptures. Just simple. Utilitarian.
Thanks to the route Apple Maps chose for me, I did not see any known fast-food place once I left Pierre, SD almost all the way to Bismarck, ND. (Saw them at one exit on I94 before getting into Bismarck.) The drive was amazing...I had never seen so many miles and miles of sunflower fields in bloom. What a sight it was with blue skies and puffy white clouds above them!
I do not mean disrespect to anyone but Bismarck seems like a sprawling, modern city...compared to Pierre, SD.
